TicketLegend provides an event ticketing platform for organisers, buyers, and scanner/check-in teams. We process personal information to operate the platform securely and responsibly.
2. Who we are
TicketLegend is a technology platform that helps organisers publish events, manage ticket inventory, process payments through approved payment providers, issue QR tickets, and validate entry at check-in.
3. Personal information we collect
- Account and profile details such as name, email, and phone.
- Order and ticket details, including event, ticket type, and ticket number.
- Payment reference information provided by payment providers.
- Event attendance and check-in status data.
- Refund request data and supporting context.
- Support/contact messages submitted to TicketLegend.
- Technical browser/device and security event data for operations and abuse prevention.
4. How we use personal information
- Create and maintain user and organiser accounts.
- Process ticket orders and issue secure QR tickets.
- Support scanner validation and event entry management.
- Handle refund requests and related communication.
- Provide customer and organiser support services.
- Send transactional emails such as order, ticket, and refund updates.
- Improve platform security, detect abuse, and prevent fraud.
5. POPIA-friendly lawful processing basis
We process information where it is necessary to deliver services requested by users, meet legal obligations, protect legitimate business and security interests, and operate fair ticketing workflows for organisers and buyers.
7. Payment information
TicketLegend does not store full card details. Payments are processed through configured payment providers such as Payfast. TicketLegend may store payment references and status metadata required for order, reconciliation, and support.
9. Data security
We apply access-control, role-based restrictions, tokenized ticket access, and operational safeguards to reduce unauthorized access risk. No internet-based service can offer absolute security guarantees.
10. Data retention
Information is retained as needed for ticketing operations, legal and tax record requirements, support resolution, anti-fraud controls, and business continuity.
11. Data subject rights
Subject to applicable law, users may request access, correction, deletion, or objection to specific processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa where applicable.
12. Children and minors
Ticket purchases are generally expected to be completed by adults. Event-specific age restrictions and entry rules may apply and are determined by organisers and venues.
13. International processing
Some service providers may process or store information outside South Africa. Where this occurs, TicketLegend applies reasonable safeguards and provider controls.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal, platform, or operational changes. Updated versions will be published on this page with a revised date.
