Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 21 May 2026
These terms govern the use of TicketLegend as a platform for event discovery, ticket purchases, organiser management, and QR-based check-in operations.
1. Introduction
These Terms apply to users of TicketLegend, including organisers, buyers, scanner staff, and related support users. By using TicketLegend, you agree to these Terms.
2. Definitions
- TicketLegend: the platform and related services.
- Organiser: a party publishing and managing an event.
- Buyer/Customer: a person purchasing event tickets.
- Event: a listing managed by an organiser.
- Ticket: an issued entitlement to attend an event.
- QR code: a scannable code linked to ticket validation.
3. Role of TicketLegend
TicketLegend provides technology infrastructure for ticketing and check-in. Organisers are responsible for event content, venue compliance, legal operation, and event delivery.
4. User accounts
Users must provide accurate information and keep account access secure. TicketLegend may suspend access where misuse, fraud, or policy breaches are detected.
5. Event listings
Organisers must provide accurate event details, ticket information, and venue rules. TicketLegend may remove or restrict listings that appear unlawful, misleading, or operationally unsafe.
6. Ticket purchases
- Tickets are subject to availability and inventory limits.
- Prices are displayed and processed in South African Rand (ZAR).
- Service/platform/payment fees may apply where indicated.
- Order confirmation and QR ticket delivery occur after successful payment capture.
7. Payment
Payments are processed by approved providers such as Payfast. Split payment settings may be configured for organiser payouts where enabled. TicketLegend does not store full card details.
8. QR tickets and entry
Buyers must present a valid QR ticket for entry. Duplicate scans, invalid tickets, and refunded/cancelled tickets are rejected. Event and venue right-of-admission rules may apply.
9. Event rules
Organiser and venue-specific rules may apply, including entry times, age restrictions, and prohibited items. Buyers should review each event’s rules before attendance.
10. Cancellations, postponements, and refunds
Refund and cancellation outcomes are governed by event policy and TicketLegend’s Refund Policy. For launch, refund decisions are managed in TicketLegend while payment refund completion is reconciled through the Payfast Dashboard.
11. Scanner/check-in
QR validation determines ticket status at entry. Already-used, invalid, refunded, or cancelled tickets are rejected according to platform and event rules.
12. Prohibited use
Prohibited behavior includes fraud, tampering with QR codes, unauthorized resale where restricted, and abuse of refund or support workflows.
13. Intellectual property
TicketLegend branding, software, content structure, and platform materials remain the property of TicketLegend or respective rights holders.
14. Privacy
Personal information handling is described in the Privacy Policy.
15. Limitation of liability
TicketLegend applies reasonable care in delivering platform services. To the extent permitted by law, TicketLegend is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from organiser-controlled event delivery, subject to applicable consumer law.
16. Changes to service or terms
TicketLegend may update services and terms over time. Updated terms will be published with a revised date.
